Baba Mountain with the peak Pelister (2.601) is located in the southern part of the Republic of Macedonia. It is a mountain massif high elevated between the Pelagonia valley in the east and Lake Prespa in the west. It is counted in high mountains with specifically expressed relief forms.
Grandma with Pelister is distinguished by a distinctive mountain climate. The plot has a variety of woody and grassy vegetation.
Due to relief, hydrographic, floristic-faunistic features, Pelister in 1948 was declared the first national psr in the Republic of Macedonia, with an area of 12,500 hectares.
The massif is rich in a variety of historical, archaeological and architectural heritage. There are 11 arranged monastery complexes, more than 70 churches, 30 monuments and more cultural traditional manifestations. With the exceptional natural and anthropogenic values and relatively good accessibility, the mountain Baba with Pelister is a very attractive place for numerous tourists, mountaineers and other visitors.
